1.2 – Being or breeding toxicity on any platform will have you removed from the community. Any issues must be addressed via our Discord ticketing system.

1.3 – Any roleplay that violates the Twitch Terms of Service (ToS), Twitch Community Guidelines and our ruleset are strictly prohibited.

1.6.1 - Do not break character in-game to discuss these issues with staff members who are actively roleplaying. This would be failRP.

1.7 – Report issues in a timely manner. Problems that happened weeks before being reported are less likely to be addressed appropriately.

  • 2.1 – All discriminatory behaviour is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to:

2.1.1 – The use of discriminatory words and/or slurs both in and out of character.

2.1.2 – Portraying a character as a discriminatory stereotype that could cause offence.

2.1.3 – Excluding players from roleplay scenarios due to discrimination against them or their character.

2.2 – Sexual and emotional harassment of any kind is not tolerated and will result in a permanent ban with no option for appeal. This includes but is not limited to:

2.2.1 – Contacting other players with inappropriate and sexual messages, and/or making unwanted advances on other players, both in game and out.

3.5 – Unknown callers and other players on a radio channel cannot be identified via their voice. They may only be identified if they self-identify.

  • 4.1 – Characters must not be named anything considered offensive, inflammatory, or disrespectful to any individual and/or group.

4.2 – Character attire and/or appearance must not violate any terms of service (e.g. no nudity)

4.6 – Characters cannot be outlandish in nature without solid RP reasoning.

4.7 – EMS and LEO are not permitted to be corrupt.

4.7.1 - At no point should EMS or LEO use their job specific resources to commit and/or assist in committing crimes. This would be an unfair advantage over other players.

  • 5.1 – Erotic RP is forbidden on GenesisRP. Alluding to and joking about sexual acts is fine without excess.

5.2 – Pregnancy storylines resulting in a birth on the server are not permitted, but a character may use it as a reason to leave the city.

5.4 – All players must value their lives, regardless of their profession or role.

5.5 - A hostage is to comply with demands and act accordingly until they have been released, rescued, or an opportunity to safely escape arises. Hostages must value their lives.

  • Definition: Metagaming is when a player makes use of information they have learned OOC that their character does not know IC. This is considered a form of cheating in roleplaying games.

6.1 – Metagaming is forbidden on GenesisRP.

6.2 – Information posted in the GRP Discord is NOT in-character information. The only exceptions to this rule are posts in #yellow_pages, #job_vacancies, and messages that have been specifically marked as IC.

6.3 - You must not log-in to assist in an RP situation where you learned that someone is in trouble OOC.

6.4 – Major character development arcs must not be extensively planned via DMs. We encourage a focus on improvisational RP, where interaction with community members in game is organic and inclusive.

6.4.1 - Character development can be planned to an extent, but the end result of these events should be open-ended, and not heavily scripted to allow for improv.

6.5 – Pushing outside knowledge to also be relayed in game is also forbidden. This includes information from DMs, Twitch streams, and other forms of OOC communication.

  • Definition: Powergaming is where a player uses in-game mechanics, exploits, external information, or failRP, to give their character an unfair advantage. This can range from abusing glitches to failing to roleplay injuries appropriately. This is considered a form of cheating in roleplaying games.

7.1 – Powergaming is forbidden on GenesisRP.

7.2 – Players should roleplay their injuries realistically.

7.2.1 – Instantly getting up to pursue your attackers after injury is powergaming.

7.3 – Using another player to transfer money between your own characters is not allowed.

7.4 – Any bug that provides some form of personal gain must be reported. Failure to report and/or exploiting such bugs is a punishable offense.

7.5 – GenesisRP does not allow the use of modified clients and trainers.

  • 8.1 – In the case of deaths resulting from firearms or explosives, you cannot remember key details such as specific identity, license plates, etc. You may remember small details such as vehicle make, model and colour, outfit colour and the why/how of your death.

8.2 – In the case of deaths resulting from melee, falling, or being run over, you can remember everything if you wish your character to do so.

8.3 – You may utilise texts, Tweets, yellow pages, and information from other players IC to recall information lost to amnesia.

8.6 - When downed, you should not respawn at hospital if there are active members of EMS, you are being transported to hospital, and/or people are coming to help you. You should only respawn if there is no apparent chance of aid.

8.7 – You must not return to an active situation after receiving any form of medical treatment. This does not include self-treatment without leaving the scene.

8.8 – Only the player of a character can permit their character to be permanently killed.

8.9 – You must not perma a character for the sole purpose of avoiding RP situations or consequences.

8.10 – Permadeath by suicide or self-harm is forbidden.

  • 9.1 – To engage in player/faction combat, you must have sufficient RP build-up and reasoning. You cannot kill someone on sight.

9.1.1 - Initiate before shooting. You are expected to roleplay and use your words before entering combat. This gives all players a fair chance in combat scenarios, knowing that their life is at risk beforehand.

9.2 – With any roleplay combat you may be in, you cannot leave until the conflict has ended. This includes detainment by police.

9.3 – You must not get airlifted (respawn) to hospital if a situation is still ongoing.

9.3.1 – You may only be airlifted if the situation has ended, and there is no apparent chance of aid.

9.4 – When involved in a situation, you must not retreat to a “safe zone” (home, behind locked doors, etc) or log out for 10 minutes after a situation has ended. This also includes fleeing from police following a crime or robbery.

  • 10.1 – You should only be tackling someone in a combat situation if you have RP reason, intent, and it doesn’t breach NVL.

10.2 – You may only carry an unconscious person while driving a vehicle, so long as there is a vacant spot in the vehicle for that body to be placed in.

10.3 – Do not carry/lift random players on the street.

10.4 – You must not use the lift mechanism to continuously move downed players away from EMS.

10.5 – Players must not carry more than one unconscious/injured player at one time.

  • 11.1 – You must not steal EMS or PD vehicles without proper RP reasoning.

11.2 – Criminal activities must be initially conducted via ground vehicles. Any sea or air vehicles must be at an external location, and traveled to.

11.3 – You must not volunteer to be a hostage in a robbery. Criminals should strive to take hostages, not recruit them.

11.5.1 – A vacant seat must also be available when transporting a hostage.

11.5.2 - Vehicles used in jailbreaks follow this same guideline.

11.6 – Players are not to act criminally with the sole intent of baiting the police.

11.7 – Hostage takers must not carry or lift hostages. Hostages must walk by themselves.

11.8 – Players are not to use vehicles/aircrafts to land in, or break fencing to gain access to the prison for any reason.

11.8.1 – Players can only leave prison by serving time, or by being broken out via applicable jailbreaking methods.

  • 12.1 - Gangs are limited to having 8 members.

12.2 – Gangs cannot form alliances. Friendships can be maintained, but gangs should not be actively working together to a common goal.

12.3 – Gangs with members who own multiple business can only use one business in crime-related activities.

12.4 – You must wear your gang’s colour and/or clothes when doing gang-related activities, or in a conflict/war. You should be identifiable as a member of your respective gang.

12.5 – If a non-gang member is wearing your gang’s colours, this doesn’t give you a reason to engage in combat. RP build-up must occur beforehand.

12.6 - Gang wars are permitted, but should have sufficient RP build-up, proper reasoning, and follow our rules of combat.

12.6.1 - During a gang war, you must be wearing an outfit that identifies you as a member of your respective gang. This avoids unnecessary casualties and cases of RDM.
